Stephen Kalinich & Friends

California Feeling

Songs, poetry and friendship. Explore California Feeling, its follow-up California Feeling 2, and the later digital collections.

The original collection

California Feeling

A gathering of songs, poems and voices from Stevie’s creative circle. The collection brings his work with The Beach Boys into conversation with friends and interpreters, including “Little Bird”, “Rainbows”, “Be Still” and “A Friend Like You”.

At its heart are the friendships behind the songs. Contributors to the original album page included Marilyn Wilson-Rutherford, Alan Boyd, Jez Graham, David Courtney and Jon Tiven, each remembering a different part of that shared musical life.

The follow-up

California Feeling 2

The follow-up collection was announced in January 2016 by MsMusic Productions. Produced by Mark Linett, with Carol Schofield as executive producer, it continued the celebration of Stevie’s words through a wide circle of collaborators.

The announced contributors included David Marks, Mary Wilson, Steve Cropper, P.F. Sloan, Alan Boyd, Neil Innes and Stacy Keach.

The collection continues.
